  The disjunct distribution of this species suggests that the Indian Ocean [3402]
  records are either due to introduction as a cultivated ornamental, or to long- [3402]
  distance dispersal, the seeds remaining waterproof for many months. But it [3402]
  appears to be native in Madagascar, and confined to the higher altitudes of a [3402]
